Germany has welcomed lots of prolific youngsters into their roster to achieve success in the World Cup 2022.

Many young players, including Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sane, have been called for training, and they await landing in Qatar to fulfill the high expectations given to them as a team.

Germany seeks to return from their humiliating display in 2018’s World Cup and underwhelming performance in Euro Cup 2020. So, they have extensively gathered youngsters to make them form great chemistry and experience right from the very start to ultimately become the future of Germany’s football future.

Germany is in Group H, along with Japan, Costa Rica, and the top contender, Spain. Everybody’s eyes will be on the Group stage match between Spain and Germany.

In this world cup, the world will watch and judge the performance of four German youngsters. 

Leroy Sane is Bayern Munich’s Winger

Leroy Sane is the first player to watch with high hopes in Qatar, playing for Bayern Munich as Winger. 

He started his career by playing for the youth team of SG Wattenscheid 09 and shifted to Bayern Munich in 2020. 

Born in 1996 in Essen, Germany, Leroy Sane signed for SG Wattenscheid right from a very young age, shifted to Bayern Leverkusen, and finally landed in Schalke 04.

In 2014, he signed his contract to play for the senior team of Schalke. He debuted in Bundesliga against VFB Stuttgart in the 77th minute and had his best moment when he scored a goal against Real Madrid in 2015’s Champions League. 

Career after 2016

After Schalke, Sane signed a 5-year contract with Manchester City in 2016, boosting his career.

He made 90 appearances for the club and scored 25 goals. At the end of 2020, Sane refused his contract extension, chose to go home, and signed a 5-year contract with Bayern Munich. 

In Munich, he has made 76 appearances and scored 18 goals. However, his injuries have plagued him from performing as he did in Manchester City. He also has the privilege of wearing the No. 10 shirt previously worn by club legend Arjen Robben. 

His best performance came in the 2017-2018 season for Manchester City, where he scored 14 and made 19 assists for his teammates. This great form helped Manchester City that season’s Premier League Title.

He also bagged various achievements like ‘Premier league player of the Month’ in Oct 2017 and was eventually voted in as the PFA Young Player of the Year. 

Jamal Musiala is A Promising Midfielder And Potential Golden Ball Candidate

Jamal Musiala is another youngster to watch for, who currently plays as Bayern Munich’s Midfielder.

He has African roots due to his father being Nigerian. He has played for Bayern Munich’s senior team since 2020. Born in 2003 in Stuttgart of, Germany, his early career started with him playing in the youth team of TSV Lehnerz from 2008 to 2010. He jumped various clubs in his youth career from Southhampton to Chelsea and finally to Bayern Munich.

During his time at Bayern, he has made 70 appearances and scored 20 goals. He made the record of being the youngest player to play a match for Bayern in the Bundesliga. He was in the team that won the Bundesliga of 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons and the UEFA Champions League 2019-2020.

One another thing to note about Musiala is that he is pretty ferocious inside the D-box. In Bundesliga, he has the second-highest touches in 90 min, 6.36, only shy of teammate Mane’s record of 6.86. That is why Musiala is another youngster who we hope will shine in this world cup. 

Kai Havertz is Chelsea’s Midfielder To Watch

Kai Havertz is another youngster to watch in this World Cup who currently plays for Chelsea FC. as a midfielder. 

Born in 1999 in the city of Aachen, Germany. In 2003, he enrolled in the Alemannia Mariadorf, which was close to his home, and this started his youth career. He later got scouted for Bayern Leverkusen, and his fame began to rise. 

He has showcased excellent performance in his club activities. When he joined Leverkusen’s senior team, he made his debut in 2016 against Werder Bremen. He was the youngest goalscorer for Leverkusen in the Bundesliga when he struck a goal against Wolfsberg in their 2017 match. He had 118 appearances for Leverkusen and bagged 36 goals.

Career After 2020

Kai departed the club in the 2020 season and followed suit to Chelsea to shift his career to England.

He was bought for an expensive fee of £62 million, which displays his value. While at Chelsea, he made his debut against Brighton in the Premier league. He scored his first goal against Southhampton on 17th October. He has made 68 appearances for Chelsea and scored 15 goals. 

His significant achievements have come from his time in Chelsea. Right in his debut season, he scored the winning goal against Manchester City in the Champions League Final, winning the Champions League. With Chelsea, he has also been runner-up in FA Cup twice.

Serge Gnabry Will Lead The Forward Line

Another highly anticipated player for this World Cup is Serge Gnabry, who plays for Bayern Munich as a winger. 

Born in 1995 in the city of Stuttgart, Germany, Gnabry has had an interest in football from a very young age. He enrolled in TSV Weissach in 1997 and has changed many clubs over his youth. 

In 2011, he got scouted and got an opportunity to play in Englan for Arsenal FC. he decided to go there, and due to his outstanding performance for the youth team, he was selected to play in the senior team right after one year. 

Even though he was hyped up to be a superstar in Arsenal, he didn’t last long, as he got limited play time. Who could blame Arsene Wenger too? He wanted first-team play, but the team was packed with superb wingers like Theo Walcott, Oxlade Chamberlain, and Jack Wilshere. 

Moreover, his injuries plagued his starting hope in Arsenal. So, he subsequently got loaned to West Bromich Albion, where he played just a single match. 

Return to Germany

Finally, in 2016, he returned to his home country, Germany, by signing for Werder Bremen. 

There he played 27 matches and scored 11 goals. His days to shine had just begun. In 2017, he signed for Bayern Munich. However, he made his debut in 2018 against FC Stuttgart. Currently, he has made 136 appearances and scored 53 goals. He will continue to perform in Munich as he has extended his contract till the 2025-2026 season. 

He was in the Arsenal team when they won the FA Cup consecutively in the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 seasons. As for his time in Bayern Munich, he has continuously been there to win Bundesliga for four seasons, from the 2018-2019 season to 2021-2022, and the Champions League in 2019-2020. 

His most significant achievement came from being declared the Bundesliga Player of the 2018-2019 Season and being in the team of the season too.
