Rugby Star Kelly Meafua Suicide Death Reason

Rugby star Kelly Meafau committed suicide after jumping off the bridge of Pont-Vieux during the celebration of his team’s final season home win.

Kelly’s teammate Christopher Voatoa also jumped into the river in an attempt to rescue his friend but was unsuccessful to do so.

Meafau’s body was recovered only on Saturday morning and the Montauban family has expressed their sincere honor and condolences for their departed player.

Kelly died at an age of 31 on May 6, 2022.

The talented flanker started playing rugby from the early age of 14 and was a versatile player and a solid robust athlete in his position.

After jumping off the Pont-Vieux bridge into the Avre river, Kelly died of severe hypothermia and drowning.
