Mayilsamy was an Indian Tamil actor and comedian best known for his supporting roles. Mayilsamy appeared in many Tamil films and was a regular guest judge on Sun TV’s Asathapovathu Yaaru.

Mayilsamy was a popular South Indian television veteran known for his impeccable comic timing and who was mostly seen playing strong supporting character roles in popular Tamil daily soaps and Tamil movies. Mayilsamy was also a well-known stage performer, stand-in comedian, TV host, and theater performer. In short, Mayilsamy was a multifaceted and multitalented personality in the Tamil television industry.

Mayilsamy announced in October 2009 that his son Arumainayagam was ready to act in films and gave him the stage name Anbu. Anbu was supposed to make his debut in 2011 with Rasu Madhuravan’s Parthom Pazhaginom, co-starring Joshna Fernando, but the film was canceled shortly after its release. In late 2015, Anbu began work on Rajasekhar’s fantasy comedy Andha 60 Naatkal, co-starring Chandrika, but the film was never completed.
