President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has named Vadym Omelchenko, the Ukrainian ambassador to France, Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to UNESCO. Decree No.507 / 2020 was published on the website of the Head of State.
Vadym Omelchenko, the Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, is a Ukrainian politician, the founder, and the President of the Gorshenin Institute. Omelchenko has served as Ukraine’s Ambassador to France since August 2020.
Before Omelchenko, Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to UNESCO was Oleh Shamshur. Ukraine’s Ambassador to France, Vadym Omelchenko, has begun his diplomatic duties at the Ukrainian Embassy in France.
On September 3, Omelchenko submitted his credentials to Philippe Franc, Director of the French Foreign Ministry’s State Protocol Department.

He worked as a consultant to the parliamentary committee on the fight against organized crime and corruption on two occasions, led a group of consultants to the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister on economic changes, and twice served as an adviser to the Speakers of the Ukrainian Parliament.
Vadym Omelchenko taught at the Taras Shevchenko National University’s Institute of International Relations in Kyiv and the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He has been the President of the Gorshenin Institute since 2006. He has provided lectures at the Ecole Militaire, the National Assembly, and the French Senate and many interviews and expert comments on the situation in Ukraine to French media outlets such as Le Monde, La Croix, and The Tribune.
He has been an Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to France since August 2020.
