On Saturday, a person was arrested in connection with a tragic watercraft accident on the Wilmington River. Savannah resident Mark Christopher Stegall was arrested for boating under the influence, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

Mark Stegall from Savannah has been identified as the suspect who operated watercraft under influence. He is a 45-year-old man who has been confirmed by the media as the person who got arrested in connection to the mysterious boating accident.

Mark Stegall And Boating Accident Details
Two boats collided while heading in opposite directions, according to the Coast Guard. The first boat had three passengers on board, while the second had six. Three bodies have been retrieved from the Wilmington River, increasing the total number of those killed in the horrific boat crash to five.
Similarly, three more bodies were discovered in the ocean early Sunday morning. They’ve been searching for the other missing persons involved in Saturday’s crash since early Sunday morning.
The game wardens, in collaboration with the Chatham County Marine Patrol, Savannah Fire, Chatham Emergency Services, and the United States Coast Guard, launched a search for the missing using sector scan sonar and divers.
At about 9:00 a.m. Sunday, game wardens discovered all three missing victims in 14-foot deep water, near to one other. Chatham County Marine Patrol divers retrieved the bodies.
