Vee Mampeezy is Botswana’s favourite House-Kwasa musician who also happens to be the leader and songwriter of Lamalanga and Black Money Makers records.
Vee Mampeezy Biography
Odirile Vee Sento, better known by his stage name Vee Mampeezy was born on 17th May 1983 in Hukuntsi, Gaborone, Botswana. Not much information is available about his early life, parents or siblings.
Vee Mampeezy is currently married to his long time partner, Kagiso De Klerk who is a former model and DJ whom he tied the knot with during 2014. He is famous for being the local musician who popularized the Kwaito Kwasa genre of music, a combination of Kwaito music with a Kwasa Kwasa rhythm and guitar.
Vee Mampeezy Career
To be able to record his first song, Vee had to sell some of his belongings including his phone, Timbaland shoes and his CD player to raise enough money. The song went ahead to secure him sponsorship from Yarona FM.
In 2001, Vee Mampeezy released his first album Pompa Tswidi but it was his second album Lamalanga which he released in 2002 that placed him on the map and gave him more recognition.
Vee has been into the music industry for twenty years of success and owns a record label Black Money Makers which he launched in 2006. He released his first album under the label, however, Vee Mampeezy is currently signed under Universal Music Group.
Vee Mampeezy has successfully collaborated with major artists and producers over the years making more creative joints for his audience. He had won a Metro FM One Africa award in 2017 for his song ‘I Do’ becoming the first artist from Botswana to win a Metro FM award.
Vee has his own mineral water brand “the MaVeeta mineral water” which was launched in 2010. He also owns his own line of condoms known as Lavitah.
