She graduated with Bachelor’s in Journalism and Broadcast Radio-TV from the University of Missouri-Columbia, which is also the number 1 journalism program in the country.
She graduated in 2010. While at university, Teryn was a sports reporter and anchor for NBC-affiliated KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri from October 2008 to March 2011.

After graduation, Teryn worked as a production assistant for the St. Louis Rams from August 2011 to January 2012. Schaefer worked as a reporter for KSDK-TV and hosted HighSchoolSports (dot) net in St. Louis, Missouri from July 2011 to March 2012. Later, she started working for Fat Chimp Studios in St. Louis in March 2012 as a video editor and production assistant.
In July 2012, Teryn moved to Waterloo, Illinois to work as a web editor and sports editor for The Republic-Times. She stayed there until March 2014. While working in Waterloo, Teryn had a second job from September 2012 to August 2015 as a sideline reporter for the Missouri Valley Conference. Soon after becoming a sideline reporter, Schaefer got a third job in November 2012 at TalentPlus Universal as a host and model. She stayed there until August 2015
Teryn was also the FOX Sports Midwest Girl for two years from June 2013 to May 2015. After leaving The Republic-Times, she worked from April 2014 to August 2015 as a reporter, host, and producer for the St. Louis Cardinals. August 2014 – July 2015: Schaefer worked for the University of Missouri as an in-game host and emcee, yet again adding a fourth job to her plate.
From August 2015 until May 2016, Teryn went on to work with CBS Interactive as a sports host and anchor on CBS Sports. In May 2016, she moved to Jacksonville, Florida to work as a reporter and producer for the PGA Tour.
