Hackbarth currently works full-time at KWCH in Wichita, Kansas, United States as an evening anchor. She started working for KWCH in May 2021. Before joining the station she worked for KETK NBC and FOX51 News in Tyler, Texas as a freelance anchor and reporter. She worked there for three years and ten months.

Apart from her primary role as anchor and reporter, she was also responsible for directly contributing to increased viewer engagement when ratings were recorded. She was also chosen from a peer group to represent the station for various field-based projects such as the Texas Rose Festival and midterm elections.
