Hayden Moss Interview

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: So we spoke the day before the game began and I asked you which was harder: Big Brother or Survivor and you said to ask you after 39 days. Well, you made it, what, 36 days, which is close enough. Soooooooo, which is harder, Hayden?

HAYDEN MOSS: It’s apples and oranges out there. They are two totally different games. Survivor is by far physically harder and physically more demanding. I think the mental side of Big Brother and the wear of 90 days is a little bit harder on your mindset. But it’s so hard to try and say this game is harder, or that game is harder. There are bits and pieces of Survivor that are harder and bits and pieces of Big Brother that are way harder.
EW: I feel like if you make it back in the game off of Redemption Island and into the final 3, you win the game. Do you agree?

HAYDEN: Yeah. If I’m in the final 3, I don’t want to say it’s a slam dunk, but I think I do get a win. I think I do. If I’m in the final 3. First of all, I’d get to plead my case, and I feel I’d be pretty good at that. And I got a pretty good résumé there at the end to take home a win.

EW: What if Tina makes it to the 3? Does she win?

HAYDEN: My opinion is no. Tyson would still have my vote because he played an unbelievable game. Some people would have been bitter and probably voted for Tina, but there are a few of us that wouldn’t have been, and I think the people that weren’t bitter could convince the others to vote for the right guy.

EW: Except for Vytas.

HAYDEN: Yeah, clearly Vytas had an agenda going into that last vote. And he plead his case and went with Monica.

EW: Are you actually going to continue to date somebody who didn’t even make it to the merge, Hayden? I mean, how embarrassing!

HAYDEN: Yes, I am. Kat and I are doing good. Obviously long distance relationships are a little tougher, but it’s really good, We love each other. It’s awesome.

EW: Question for you: Why is Kat telling me and the national television audience all about her boob job?

HAYDEN: [Long sigh] I don’t know the answer to that, exactly. She was prodded a little bit by Jeff. But I don’t know the answer to that, to be honest with you. I was just like “Here we go again!”

EW: Who do you think won the award for most shameless Reunion show Twitter plug, you or Aras?

HAYDEN: Aras’ plug was way better than mine. I was just throwing it out there to get a few more followers. Aras got his username in there. He planned his out strategically. I was just tossing it to the wind and going with it.

EW: Have you checked to see if it worked?

HAYDEN: I have been on Twitter a little bit. I gained a few followers.

EW: Excellent. So what’s up with the Tribal Council porn stache?

HAYDEN: Oh, did you like that?

EW: Yeah, I liked that. Strong look. Very strong.

HAYDEN: So, first of all, my facial hair is horrible. But I got back to Ponderosa and shaved everything except the stache because I wanted to see what I looked like. I’ve never had a mustache. I’m a big fan of Tom Selleck. How could you not be? So I shaved everything but the stache and thought, you know what? I’m going to leave this for one night. So I went with it, man, and it was disgustingly horrible.

EW: Hayden, inquiring minds want to know: Did you rustle any feathers at the Reunion?

HAYDEN: Rustling feathers is a new term that is going to live on forever, hopefully. Clearly I was wrong in the context of that argument, but I think it works. But no, the reunion was all hugs and kisses. No rustling feathers.

EW: I’m sure you look back at the season and try to figure out what you could have done to win this game. Is there anything in particular you look at and think, oh if I had just done this or NOT done that?

HAYDEN: Yeah, there was one point in the game where we could have voted off Tyson. There were eight people in the game — me, Caleb, Katie, Ciera and Laura. That’s’ five. And on the other side it was Tyson, Gervase and Monica. And the five of us talked about potentially voting off Tyson. We didn’t. And it was my fault. I was the point man on it and I was like, “Nope. We’re going to vote out Laura this time and Tyson the next time.” So we voted out Laura and then the next time is when Ciera flipped.

EW: And she doesn’t flip if the move to vote him out saves her mom.

HAYDEN: Exactly, And then I’m in the five person alliance and the other side is Gervase and Monica and I’m probably in a better position. But you never know how it shakes out.

EW: What has the Brigade from Big Brother thought of your gameplay?

HAYDEN: They’ve loved it. I haven’t talked to them today, but the Brigade all thought for sure I was going to win this thing. And I let them think that up until last night.
