Gemma Mckeown Speaks About Her Daughter Megan Reid 16 Days After Her Death

The devastated mother of a youngster who committed suicide has spoken out about how her daughter was “damaged” by years of sexual torture at the hands of her own father.

At Glasgow High Court, Joseph McGinn was convicted of sexually abusing Megan and a second unknown victim and sentenced to 18 years in prison.

On the other hand, Gemma said that after his sentence, her daughter was so “damaged” by the abuse that she couldn’t come to terms with how it made her feel.

The grieving mother reportedly stated that Megan was “crushed” by the response of some extended family members who called the daughter a “liar.” “Megan was a lovely kid, but what occurred to her left her heartbroken and broken,” Gemma continued.

Celtic Football Club conducted a moment of applause for the young teenager who tragically passed away before kick-off versus St Johnstone on April 9.
