Who Is Frank Siller? Meet The Big Brother Of Stephen Gerard Siller

Frank Siller is the Chairman and CEO of Tunnel to Towers Foundation. He is the older brother of firefighter Stephen Siller who left this world on 9/11.

Siller recalls the morning of September 11, when he and his brothers were getting ready to play golf. Stephen was a member of the New York Fire Department (FDNY) squad 1 in Brooklyn who had just finished a night tour.

Stephen was going home to meet and play golf with his three brothers. Frank shared seeing the first plane strike the North Tower. The firefighter heard the news on his radio and immediately turned his vehicle around.

He went straight to his firehouse, grabbed gear, and headed toward the then Brooklyn Battery Tunnel. The tunnel was closed when he arrived for security reasons. He then ran through the tunnel to reach the South Tower and met up with the members of Squad 1.

Later Frank was devastated to hear the news that his brother was among the missing Squad 1 firefighter. His heart broke into pieces when he learned that his beloved brother wouldn’t be returning home.

Frank Siller Short Wikipedia Bio

The older brother of firefighter Stephen Siller, Frank Siller, was born and raised in New York. He was among the seven children born to his parents.

Frank is notable for his Never Forget Concert: Tribute to the fallen, for the loving memory of their brother, and the American Newsroom. Last year, he walked through six states (part of a 537-mile journey) in honor of the 20th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

The goal was to encourage Americans never to forget the selfless sacrifices of the nearly 3,000 Americans killed by the 9/11 events, including his loving brother. The latter was off duty when he got the news and ran through the Hugh Carey Tunnel.

Sadly, he was among the 343 New York City firefighters who lost their lives responding to the tragic events that day. Frank’s second goal was to gain support for the foundation, which actively provides mortgage-free homes to Gold Star families, late first responders, and catastrophically injured veterans.

The family founded the now-famous Tunnel to Towers Foundation to honor their brother and has dedicated their lives to raising millions of dollars for the families of wounded or fallen first responders in memory of Stephen.
